Moisson d’Alma
The programming languages
C#, ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, SQL
The project
This web application was the final project in the Multihexa school program. It was a two-person project. We had to find a customer and create an application for them. Our client was Moisson Alma. It’s an organization that provides food aid to people on low incomes. As this customer didn’t have a website, we created a web application for visitors, as well as a management application for customer administration. The project was built with the ASP.NET MVC framework and we used the following languages: C#, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Ajax and SQL. For the database, we used Microsoft SQL server and for database management, MySQL Workbench.
The challenge : Meeting with client
The problem:
It was the first time we did a project with a real client and communicating with this client wasn’t always easy. They were often busy and we weren’t able to contact them a lot. We had to make sure that we were on the same page when we were working on the project.
The solution:
Before our second meeting, we made a list of questions. During that meeting, we took as much notes as possible. We also showed to the client what we did. After that, if we had a question, we wrote it down. We did as much as possible to make progress for the next meeting to showcase what we did and note what we should change. We also decided to use email to send photos and messages, to show what we did and we reserved meeting on Microsoft Teams only when we had a lot to say and to show.
What we have learned:
It’s best to find solutions of how to communicate easily with the client. So the work can progress as smooth as possible without too much time lost.
